I looked forever for some linen/cotton sheets. I hate sateen or plain cotton and forgot about thread count! Linen sheets are super thick and last forever. They are the type of sheets that they used in the hospitals in the 1950s and 60s. My star ratings are deceptive because they were fairly expensive, not supposed to be super soft, but I know they will last forever. There will never be any balling up, I don’t sweat in them, and I will never use any thing else now that I know where I can get them!Based on other reviews saying they weren’t soft after being washed, I googled how to help soften them right off the bat so I’m not sure if these steps were helpful or not. I soaked my sheets in the bathtub with vinegar for about 12 hours then rinsed and soaked again overnight with baking soda before washing in warm water with a baking soda based detergent. I dried on low heat until they were completely dry. They aren’t as soft as my several years old comforter cover but I’m very happy with the purchase and expect them to get softer with use!Pros: after about 5 washes the sheets are starting to soften up.Cons: The first couple of washes brought forth a lot of fabric through my washing machine, and more in my dryer. I would not recommend home washing or drying of these sheets for the first several cycles.I was really excited about these sheets. I feel cool all night just because of my sheets.By a cruel twist of fate, my beautiful linen sheets had to be washed three times in six days. Due entirely to my 14 year old dog.Sheets held up fine and I’m totally happy. Wanted to be another set but, I simply couldn’t, as I knew my brother needed to enjoy this luxury as well.These are my favorite sheets. I was nervous to get linen. I was afraid it would be too hot but I sleep amazing in them. NO sweating. NO tossing and turning trying to find a 'cold spot.' Totally worth the money! And they are sooooo soft!These sheets just get better and better! I was a little concerned at first because they felt a little bit scratchy but as I’ve been washing them they just get softer.Most linen sheets I’ve seen are more expensive so the price was alluring.My only real gripe I have is that the tag is at the head of the sheet, luckily it’s on my partners side of the bed and they don’t notice ;PThat being said, this is my first set of linen sheets so I don’t have too much to compare to.I purchased the queen set in white. PROS: softer than most linen sheets upon arrival due to the company's pre-wash process. The first wash before my first use produced very minimal lint, and that lint was extremely soft so I was encouraged by that. The fitted sheet fits perfectly with plenty of room to spare - the all-around elastic is a dream. First use - very comfortable sleep, no scratchiness and I'm looking forward to the increased softness that comes with multiple washes of linen sheets. However, gave four stars because there are a few CONS: There was a small dot of a stain on the flat sheet upon arrival; I pre-treated with a dab of liquid laundry detergent and it did wash right out. The flat sheet is plenty long, head to foot of the bed - BUT it is barely wide enough side to side - I have an average thickness mattress and yet I can't tuck the sides in. Not a deal-breaker I guess, but at this price point, I would suggest the manufacturer widen the flat sheet by 8". Lastly, the two brand tags were sewn into the top/wide border of the flat sheet, rather than the typical bottom-right edge. Therefore, to avoid having those tags annoying my face at night, I had to carefully cut them out. I found that odd, and assume it was probably a one-off sewer error.I give this purchase 5 stars despite the sheets being slightly scratchy and uncomfortable at the front end of use. They are, however, softening up nicely and have out-performed my bamboo sheets for cooling and comfort. They are okeo-tex and 100% linen as expected. They wrinkle through the week’s use (does any sheet not?). But they sleep better than any other sheet set I have previously or currently own: No waking up sweaty, hot, or twisted from repositioning due to any imaginable discomfort. The price point was excellent, as is the workmanship—no threads to pluck or seams to fix. The fitted sheet fits my queen plush mattress without bagginess or pulling. And the color is perfect and unfaded after washing. I would give 5 stars across the board, but I don’t want to mislead on comfort and softness. These sheets will take about 4 washes, depending on water hardness and soap type, to cozy up. But once you get there? You will love them. A great deal to be sure.
